The plenary days of GMP Leadership provide the basis for this (additional) training. A coaching day designed to teach coaching at function-group level. With situations that group recognises immediately; the pressure points of a team lead in production are not the same as those of a head of engineering or a QC supervisor.
Every group receives the same structure, with content tailored to their own practice. A realistic scenario close to the group's own work. Where feasible, a walk-through or simulation on or near the relevant work area rather than in a training room. A root cause discussion built on a real or realistic issue from that function. And personal action planning: what each participant will change starting the next working day.
A short intake per function group precedes each coaching day, so that the case material is built on situations the group actually encounters rather than on generic examples.
- One six-hour coaching day per function group
- 3 to 12 participants per group
- Short intake per function group beforehand, to identify recognisable situations
- Scheduled after the plenary GMP Leadership days
- Closing quiz, so knowledge gain is measured rather than assumed
- Certificate of attendance for every participant
Practical requirement: where the day includes a walk-through or simulation, access to the relevant work area and any personal protective equipment required are provided on site. Where access cannot be supplied, that element is simplified or limited in scope.
